Where, who, or what happens to all the money from ticket sales and booth fees?
Praise in the Park Incorporated is an all volunteer organization of Christian believers from Lucedale, Mississippi. The organization is made up of multi-denominational believers donating their time and experience in an effort to make a difference in our community and region.
No one in the organization or associated with the organization receives a salary or compensation of any type. Any money from the annual event in excess of expenses is carried over to the following year. This carry-over money will be used to offset ticket prices or cover unforeseen expenses.
Most years expenses have exceeded revenue. If not for the generous donations of our sponsors and unnamed families, Praise in the Park would not be able to continue. It is our intent to offer a ticket price that will allow us to meet our expenses only. These donations allow us to offer a ticket price that is normally half the price of other similar regional Christian concerts.
What is the minimum age that needs a ticket?
Children 4 years old or younger do not need a ticket. They will be given an armband at the gate for counting attendance but you do not need to purchase a ticket.

What is a Super Pass ticket?

Purchasers of this ticket will be allowed to enter the park before the gates officially open. Normally gates open at 3PM so Super Pass holders will be able to enter early. These times are subject to change without notice so check the website often. As part of the Super Pass package, purchasers will receive an official souvenir pass, concert poster, and goodie bag. As a Super Pass holder, you'll also be able to sit in your location of choice and get early access to the artist's merchandise. We're working hard to add more and more to the list of goodies-you never know what you'll find in the goodie bag.

What if I don't receive my tickets in the mail before I leave for the concert?
Let us know if you do not receive your tickets in the mail. We'll make arrangements for you at will call. Bring your receipt for proof of purchase.
Why does the website say there is no refund or exchange for tickets?
Since Praise in the Park is an outdoor event, in the south, and during hurricane season, there is always the risk of circumstances beyond our control. When contracting with a major artist, stage company, and sound engineer, Praise in the Park Inc assumes all the risks that the conditions will be satisfactory for execution of the contract. The contract fees are paid regardless of the full, partial, or no execution of the event.
Of course, the organization will do its best to fulfill the obligations of the contracts and those that paid for tickets. Unfortunately it is unlikely that refunds will be offered due to limited resources.
Thank you for your understanding and continued willingness to support the event with these risks.

Why do you have a band contest every year? Why can't you just ask groups to play instead?
As you can imagine, we are flooded with requests to play every year. The requests are not just from local groups but national groups too. So how do we determine who is the most deserving? We want to offer the opportunity to local groups to perform on the big stage before the headliners. The contest allows us to do just that and promote the event at the same time. No level of advertising budget can reach the number of people that the band contestants do. And for the groups that work hard to promote the event, they are rewarded with a tremendous opportunity to perform in front of thousands. You never know how the Lord will use these bands to reach someone we never could even if we blanketed the radio with advertisments. Also, it has been our experience that the winning groups not only work hard to win the contest but also obviously work hard in the preparation for their set. They've all done a great job! It's also given us an opportunity to meet and worship with some great people. We're excited each year to see the interest the contest draws and look forward to seeing how God will use us all.
What kind of food and drink will be available for purchase?
We normally have 20 food vendors from various ministry related groups working to raise funds for their respective organizations. They offer a wide variety of delicious food and snacks. You can also purchase bottled water, coffee, soft drinks, and McAllister's tea as well as snack items like candy bars and chips. Check out the full list of our vendors and their menus on the vendor page of our website.
How much money should the students in my youth ministry bring for food and merchandise?
The students will probably be eating at least twice if you plan to make a day of it and enjoy the free music on the downtown stage which begins at 11:00. $20 would probably cover food and drink for two meals. We have many merchandise and information vendors that will be offering a wide variety of items including glow sticks, candles, soaps, jewelry, t-shirts, temporary tattoos, and much more. The bands will also be offering CDs, t-shirts, and posters for sale. Check out the full list of food and merchandise vendors on the vendor page of our website.
