Phu Quoc International Airport Recognize China and Australia Routes

Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC) is located in the south of Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam. A popular tourist destination, the island is home to internationally renowned seaside resorts with natural beauty in its beaches, crystal-clear waters and rich cultural history.

Managed and operated by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam, PQC has an annual passenger capacity of 2.65 million and is serviced by airlines including Vietjet, Vietnam Airlines, Korean Air, Jin Air, and SCAT Airlines.

Recent route success includes two new services from Vietjet that started in June, connecting Phu Quoc Island with Taichung three times per week and Kaohsiung four times per week. Vietjet stated that these new services cater to the increasing travel and discovery demands of tourists. The LCC has also announced a new route to New Delhi commencing on Sept. 9 and increased frequencies on existing services including Seoul and Taipei.

In April, Tigerair Taiwan introduced a direct service between Taoyuan and Phu Quoc, aiming to expand its presence in the Southeast Asian market. Vietravel Airlines is set to launch a service to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport on Aug. 1.

As Phu Quoc becomes increasingly popular, the first quarter of 2024 saw a 200% increase in international tourist arrivals compared to the same period last year. This growth is expected to continue, driven by Vietnam's expanded visa-free access to 80 new countries, including destinations across Asia, Latin America, and Europe.
